Longwoods Publishing, publishers of academic and scientific research, commentary and information related to health sciences, healthcare and more, requires an energetic full-time manager of events & learning programs. Reporting directly to the Publisher, this position is responsible for planning and organizing events and meetings. He or she will also be responsible for all operational, implementation, pre-, and post-event activities.
The Manager, Events & Learning Programs’ responsibilities are:
- managing and coordinating all aspects of Longwoods’ conferences and events such as Breakfast with the Chiefs, trade shows and awards programs.
- sourcing and coordinating all suppliers, including venues, caterers, and audio-visual.
- managing, coordinating, and developing event strategies, including sponsorship campaigns, marketing materials, and helping to recruit speakers.
- managing relationships, providing customer service, coordinating pre-event and on-site communication for customers, suppliers, sponsors, delegates, award winners and staff in regards to organizing events and awards.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, databases (Excel), event management technologies and email marketing campaign software.
- Ability to develop professional relationships.
- Ability to problem solve and work independently in a changing and multitasking environment.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to take direction and input and to develop effective and engaging branded events that will achieve the organizations goals.
- Ability to travel.
