The Business Information Group, Canada’s largest b-to-b publisher, has closed Les Papetières du Québec, which served the pulp and paper industry in La Belle Province. Operations at B.I.G.’s Montreal office are currently winding down, added B.I.G. president Bruce Creighton.
A source also tells us that the company laid off nine people yesterday. Creighton said he would not comment on specific numbers, but did say the company is “trimming as much as we can out of our cost structure,” including personnel.
Les Papetières du Québec, founded in 1990, had a circulation around 4,400.
