Magazines Canada Consumer Magazine Fact Book 2009 released
For the second year Magazines Canada has put together a comprehensive document for the consumer magazine industry. The Consumer Magazine Fact Book 2009 is a one-stop shop for facts, figures and trends on all aspects of the industry, says Magazines Canada executive director of advertising sales Gary Garland. “It really allows agencies, advertisers and magazine sales professionals to better understand how the magazine industry is performing and working.”
Bigger than last year's book by about 20 pages, Garland says the 72-page guide has been updated in every way possible and paints a realistic but positive picture of the Canadian consumer magazine landscape. “Certainly we saw that in terms of spend that the recession has definitely dipped revenue,” he says. “The good news is that the downturn in revenue is about advertising and not about the reader. The fundamentals in the industry remain strong despite the fact that revenues have taken a dip.”
Magazines Canada says that a B2B fact book will be released soon, and a French version of the consumer book will be available within the next few weeks. The Consumer Magazine Fact Book 2009 can be downloaded by clicking here.
