The issue marks a series of firsts for the magazine, says executive publisher Tracey McKinley. “The issue is the first stand alone newsstand special issue for Hello! Canada,” she says. “It carries on the tradition of the magazine covering the royal family.” It is also the first Hello! Canada issue to be perfect bound.

Priced at $9.95, the issue has no advertisements and is printed on heavier stock than normal, says McKinley. The magazine hopes to sell at least 50% of the over 100,000 copies sent to newsstand. “It’s a timeless issue,” she says. “Will be on newsstands indefinitely, but we expect the bulk of sales will happen during July.”
