Keith Pelley named president of Rogers Media
Rogers Communications has announced Keith Pelley will succeed Tony Viner as the president of Rogers Media effective September 7.

Pelley will report to Rogers president and CEO Nadir Mohamed and will be responsible for properties including Rogers Publishing, Rogers Broadcasting, Rogers Digital Media, The Toronto Blue Jays and the Rogers Centre, according to a company press release.

Prior to this position Pelley worked most recently as executive vice president of strategic planning at CTV and president of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.

Pelley succeeds Viner who joined Rogers in 1982 and has grown Rogers Media to include publications from Maclean-Hunter, The Toronto Blue Jays and City-TV. Viner announced his retirement in May at which time he said he would stay on until a successor was named.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to build on the legacy established by Tony Viner and the Rogers Media team," said Pelley in the release. "I've worked closely with the Rogers Media team over the years and most recently through the Olympic broadcast partnership. I've been impressed with the team's professionalism, dedication and results-driven approach."

Viner will work with Pelley to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
