Brick appoints new publisher

Brick magazine has announced that its publisher Nadia Szilvassy will step down at the end of June. Szilvassy has been with Brick since 2007, when she served as managing editor. She became publisher in 2011.

Taking over for Szilvassy, is poet and editor Laurie D. Graham. Graham was the circulation manager and assistant editor for the magazine from 2010 to 2014. She has also taught writing at Humber and Fanshawe Colleges and the University of Guelph, and is the author of two books of poetry: Rove (Hagios Press, 2013) and Settler Education (McClelland & Stewart, 2016).

"We're very happy that…she's assuming the position of publisher, where her intelligence and talent will illuminate every page," Brick editor Michael Helm, said.

"Changes at Brick over its forty-year history have always been expansive and energizing," Szilvassy said. "You will I promise find yourselves newly inspired and delighted."

Established in 1977, Brick is an international literary journal published twice a year, featuring essays, interviews, memoirs, travelogues, belles lettres, and "unusual musings of all kinds.”
